With one last burst, the final racers clear past the dragonets and the last obstacle comes into view. It's a large, mouth-watering, most wonderful smelling cake, and it's just lying out, right before the finish line, just waiting to lure in the racers and slow them down. Luckily for the race course staff, the dragonets had yet to find this prize...

And with that we have our winner! Bolt of the Waiting Forest speeds past the finish line, sits down to rest, and proceeds to eat the cupcake off her head (don't worry, the magical prize cupcakes are given out at the end XD)
But the question everyone else is asking is who will come in second and third? It seems to be pretty close!

As the race winds down to it's conclusion, Mystic of the Healing Earth slides in only just ahead of Omen of the Approaching Storm. Boy will all these racers have an exciting tale to tell...

Question about the balloons. Do we pick which modiem it is once and it remains that modiem forever, or do we get to change which modiem we use it as (within the confines of point value) each season?

Modiems are breeding items. While they are by no means required to breed, they have neat effects on the foals. See this page for the list of modiem types, and this page for what they can do when used on a breeding.

Now another set of racers line up for the start of their race and place cupcakes on their heads, what does it have in store for them?

And off go the racers, some hitting up against the first obstacle already. A tightly wooded area lies in front of them as the first challenge.

*chuckles* Elemental she may be, but I do foresee my lovely lady having just a wee bit of difficulty with the first obstacle... *eyes all that flowing hair everywhere and the oversized and delicate wings* I guess at least she flies as much with magic as with her wings.

Come on Recoil! You can fly as good as any ol' elemental.

Well, the owners of the cupcake stand thought it was a great idea setting up a stand where the two races would cross over, but unfortunately for the racers that meant the sugar-crazed dragonets were also going to be a problem for these racers as well!

Well, looks like Spectrum has learned to navigate trees after all! Just slowly. *cheers for her* And at least our flying racers have an extra dimension to maneuver and dodge in! I am curious to see if the third race shall also encounter these sugar crazed dragonets.

As the race continues, more racers pass through the forest and their eyes widen as they spot the dragonets.

Madness ensues as more racers enter the clearing with the dragonets, but even though the dragonets should have already had their fill from the race before, they still seem as hungry as ever!

That's more like it girl! Now just ignore those silly dragonets and I'll buy you all the cupcakes you want when you finish.

Another obstacle rounds the corner, this time a dark rocky tunnel. This treacherous cavern could cause trouble for many of the racers...

*pokes Spectrum* Silly girl, stop playing with the dragonets. *eyes cavern* And...not telling her that's coming up. Hope it's not so dark she gives up and goes to sleep.

And can you believe it? We have a winner already! Sirocco just blasted her way through the course and luck must have been with her!
The other placings are still completely up in the air though, and any of the racers could sneak their way into those spots!
